bwcombs
See the manual. Pages 107-110 (English version). Also, if the ML-L3 remote is new, you do have to remove the plastic tab that serves as a buffer between the battery and the contacts. Briefly: 1. Press the shooting mode button (on back, to left of viewfinder) 2. Rotate the main command dial until "delayed remote" or "quick remote" icons appear. 3. Aim the transmitter toward the front of the camera and press the button on the ML-L3.
beno_t_marchal
I hope there's a typo in your title. The D70 needs the ML-L3 remote shutter but there's also an ML-3 in the catalog which I think it not compatible with the D70. It's also a lot more expensive.
--ben
marchal.com
photos by kiem
It is the ML-L3 - typo.. The plastic shield for battery was removed. Playing around with the Menu, I dont see the option you stated. The REMOTE submenu gives me 1min, 2min, etc.. I dont see the "delayed or quick remote" option. What am I doing wrong here? marty_elan
Can I trouble you to tell me where you bought your remote? I have been trying to get one, but it seems everyone is out of stock. Thank you.
bwcombs
Marty, I was frustrated as well, trying to get a remote from Adorama, B&H , etc. I walked into a camera store in Dallas, and on a whim asked them if they had one, and voila, they had several (Cooters Camera, in Highland Park Village). I would try some of the local camera stores in your area, and suburbs. Good luck.

andy_de_groot4
I've been using my Sony Clie as a remote for mine, along with Omni Remote. Great thing about the Sony's is their extended IR range. If one can't find Nikon's remote, try eBay for a Clie and go that route. Probably cost the same or less, plus you have all the other features of the pda.
