stefanovandelli
I've changed the frame in two of my photos and the thumbnails are not refreshed to the new image. How long before the thumbnail server gets syncronised? (Note for very helpful people: I have pressed the refresh button)
peter_daalder
Whilst this thread doesn't specifically answer your question, some of Brian's comments might give an indication as to what is going on. mottershead
How long does it seem to you that it takes? We have the squid server set up to put an expiration on them of about an hour, as I recall. But some people have reported that it takes longer. This is surprising because squid is generally pretty well-behaved. Keep in mind that there may be other caches between you and thumbs.photo.net besides our squid server, such as proxy servers run by your employer or ISP, and thes may not be quite so well-behaved as our caching server. stefanovandelli
... comparing the time elapsed from my original post it is almost three hours. All that counts is that it gets refreshed eventually.
stefanovandelli
I should clarify that the main image has been correctly replaced. It is only the thumbnail that shows the old image. http://www.photo.net/photo/1437722
nikos
Brian, when I uploaded replacements for all my photos, the thumbnails took more than 24 hours to be updated. In the first 3 hours only 2-3 had been updated, and in little less than a day, not half of them were updated. Then the next day you announced the new sizing and no-compression system, so I have to do it all over again and made me feel like a I stupidly wasted my time. You hurt my feelings. stefanovandelli
Just for the record; Not yet refreshed/syncronised.
stefanovandelli
In the end I lost my patience and updated the images once again. This did the trick, though it still took hours to refresh the thumbnail. It would appear that the first time I updated the images, the action wasn't captured/registered by the thumbnail server (squid?).
