frank_scheitrowsky1
On this specific model, which is a single stroke advance, does the wind lever need 2 strokes when the back door is opened? I'm selling this camera and a potential buyer thinks the advance mechanism is slipping, requiring 2 strokes. I believe this is a design feature aiding film loading and advance to the first frame because of the 100% consistency of this occurrance: 2 strokes with the back open, 1 stroke with back closed. Can someone with this camera model please check? (Reportedly, the model P does not function this way.)
back_alley_.
hey frank, i checked it out today and my p DOES need 2 strokes to load the film at first and then only one stoke to advance the film there after. hth
stephen_w.
What's a VI-L? I'm aware of a VI and VI-T (I have one), what's the difference? As for double stroking, I only partially stroke (<1/2 stroke) just to engage the film sprockets, then close the door, so I hadn't noticed. I'll try it after I finish the film that's in it. frank_scheitrowsky1
Google canon museum to see all models. The VI-L is just like the VI-T except it has a traditional thumb advance lever instead of the bottom trigger advance lever.
stephen_w.
Thanks for responding Frank, I tried Cameraquest, in vain, I might add.
back_alley_.
canon actually sold more of the VI-L than the VI-T but the trigger winder model is better known nowadays. go figure... joe
stanley_chao
Hi Frank, I have exactly the same one (Canon VI-L) with the 50 F1.8, I try to advance, but the lever requires only one stroke regardless if the back is open or not. I don't know if your camera had been modified or something I don't know about. Cheers, Stan
