rj__
Does anyone have experience with this brand? Pros and cons as tungsten lights?
vinny_walsh
Dedolights, if you are talking about the 150watt kit variety come in two versions: one with a central ballast that allows you to dim each lamp individually by 25% increments and built in ballasts for the othe type which are heavier and slightly larger. Dedolights are known for having consistent color temperature near 3200k at all dimming levels and a very wide flood to spot range. I would say it's a hard light source with a frosted glass lens not a fresenel that typically come in a source that size. Optical snoots are available to make the beam even more precise for product stuff. The nice thing is they are lightweight and can be mounted anywhere and the lightweight cable can be taped to the ceiling and such. The connections to the ballast are the durable xlr type. The 3 light kits we typically use are very expensive and usually rented. Overall a great lightsource and i would love to own a set. Dedolight does make larger heads but i haven't ever seen them. BTW i use them for motion picture use, not stills.
