gaius1
It is when you release the shutter without advancing the film. You can use the technique to create special effects with a tripod, for example, shoot once with a person in and once without and they will appear as a "ghost". Another technique I use is to shoot the moon with a 200mm lens, then shoot a landscape at 17mm. The moon is obviously "too big", but it actually looks a lot more like it the way people perceive it.<div></div>
ralph_wilson
<p><i>"It is when you release the shutter without advancing the film"</i></p> <p>That is correct. It also means you can't do it with a D100. You can combine images in Photoshop to get the same results.</p>
luis triguez
Or in the darkroom. But that is another world.<div></div>
rustys pics
Nikon used to build this into a lot of film bodies. The 8008 series could do up to 9 exposures on one frame, and the FE-2 had the ability to multi-expose. I think even the entry level N75 has it. For digital, just use layers in Photoshop.
