paul_de_luna Posted January 26, 2005 Share Posted January 26, 2005 I have a section on my website of photos taken in early March of Yellowstone. February will be even colder. The only way to get around, besides snowmobile and snowcat, is by cross-country skiing. Make sure you're in good enough shape to do so with your equipment (including tripod because there's not much light). Your hands will freeze. I experienced great pain. mike f Posted January 26, 2005 Share Posted January 26, 2005 If you go to Gardiner MT and rent a car you can drive between Mammoth Hot Springs and Cooke City and have wonderful winter animal photography. The scenics aren't too bad either. I have made the trip twice now and the Lamar Valley has been wonderful at that time of the year.
