henry_minsky1
I am interested in the Sigma 18-50 2.8 zoom lens that just came outfor 10D/20D sized sensors. I would like to find out if anybody hasused one yet, and how they felt it compared to, say, the Canon 17-40L,or to a 28mm/2.8 Canon prime lens? I have the Sigma 18-125, which I like well enough for its color andsharpness, and I am imagining that the Sigma 18-50 will be better overits wide range. For comparison, I have the 28/2.8 and the 50/1.8prime lenses, and I am very happy with them, if I could get a zoomlens that came close, it would be very convenient. yakim_peled1
Given that you have 18-125, 28 and 50 I'd say that another zoom in this range is a bit redundant, even if its quality is better. How about getting something wider (e.g. Sigma 12-24, Tokina 12-24 or Tamron 11-18) or something longer (e.g. 70-200/4 L)?

Happy shooting,
Yakim.
henry_minsky1
After seeing some f/2 shots from the Canon 35mm prime, and taking some in bright daylight with my 28/2.8, I am now kind of partial to using a wide aperture when I can, for the effect of shallow depth of field. I'm sure I'll get over it after a while...
henry_minsky1
That pbase link has a lot of photos from this guy http://www.pbase.com/hinius I'm very inspired, plus it's a good assortment of images taken with the 17-40 and 18-50.
