bellavance
I've finally received my 20D, and I will now sell my 10D. I'd like to know how much I can expect to get for my camera. Is eBay the best place to sell it, or should I try the local paper first? Thanks Pierre
digitmstr
A new one from B&H is $1,200.00 - depending on the conditions or yours you can get anywhere from $925.00 and down. Look at the price of used D60s at reputable stores. It's easy to see that $925.00 would be the price for a used 10D say at B&H.
ashley_wright
I orignally wanted to buy a new 20D and listed mine on ebay for 1000 and I only had it for about 2 months at that point and no bids. I did end the auction a day early and there were 10 people watching it, but no bids. Not sure what the outcome would have been but it wasnt looking very hopeful. I'd suggest looking on ebay for 10d's that people are selling and make your price match theirs.

PuppyDigs
Keep it as a 2nd body and/or backup. I love shooting with 2 bodies, one with telezoom and another with wide zoom or wide prime. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
bob_bell
You might want to try KEH as they buy bodies and lenses. Also B&H and Adorama have used departments. As the 20D becomes more avaiable the 10D will drop in price. I would expect to see low actuation models selling for 7-800 in a month or two. adzy
You might want to try out fredmiranda.com. Check out the buy and sell forum. The prices around 750-850 there for a 10D
tan
I tried to sell my 10D a few weeks before the 20D was released but there was already a steady stream of 10Ds in the classified section of PN and FM ... so I've had to drop my price from $950 to $900 to $850 ... and finally sold it to someone in Indonesia! Right now, supply of 10D is greater than demand, so I doubt if you can get $900 for it, unless you package it with some other stuff ... a lens, CF card, battery grip, extra batteries, and whatever. If you can afford it, keep it as a 2nd body, or sell it for $800 (or less) to a friend or family member.

akajohndoe
I am keeping my 10D and my film EOS 1n since getting the 20D. I guess I will sell them all when the 30+ MP full frame EOS digital comes out.
patricks
Pierre, impossible to say since it depends on where you live/try to sell it, and a great deal of luck and timing. I'd try photogon.com first and here on PN at the same time, then eBay and perhaps the local paper as well. Unfortunately you're timing is not very good, you held on to it and now want to sell it right when hundreds, if not thousands, of Canon users are trying to upgrade. I say sell it for what you can get, perhaps $900, cut your losses now, and just view the monetary difference as digtial equipment rent. I sold my 10D for $1,200 a while back so that body cost me less than $1/day, so to say.
gary_woodard
The full wave of 10Ds have yet to hit the market, I think they will bottom out at $600.00 by April 2005 and $300.00 in 2 years, unfortunatly these digitals have the lifespan of a cockroach.
