Another GR1V gone.....

Alas, it's time to eat my words. Having berated others for parting

with their Ricohs I too have said goodbye to the GR1V.

It's a neat little camera but just how many pictures can you take with

a 28mm lens? Well, in my case, not enough to justify keeping it when I

came across a really nice 24mm for my Nikon F. The extra 4mm makes a

big difference and although I'll miss being able to slip the Ricoh in

my pocket, I won't miss the long wait between taking the pictures and

seeing them which having too many bodies engenders.

So the next project is to fit the 24mm onto my M3......

Harvey,

I too just sold my GR1 (the 3rd one I have owned) for the same reasons almost. Too many cameras kept me from using it but once or twice a year.

Now as to the fitting the Nikon 24 to your M3 -- I have the solution. And have used mine to adapt a Nikon 24/2.8 to my M6. I was planning on putting my adapter up for sale here or on e-*ay soon. Let me know if you are interested.

Too many bodies is why I am currently 'Zenning out' my collection.

At this rate I will soon be down to a Nikon F80 and Nikon D70 bodies plus Nikon (35mm f2, 50mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.4) AF-D lenses and the Leica CM. (Oh, and a neg scanner)

EFO (Canon A80) has been sold, GR1-V sold, stupid Nikon 18-35mm AF-D lens sold and Contax T2 to be sold soon.
