maxhaynes
I think it would be great to be able to collect other people's pictures that you like in folders. We have a version of this in our highest rated images, but I think it would be great to have folders for particular genres and that sort of thing. People could look at other people's folders for interesting insights into their likes and the user could create a catalog of particular types of images. I just saw a wonderful image of a smiling frog in a person's hand today, I would like to put that in a folder called 'humorous' Since I hate to rate anonymously, there is no way to "keep it". I have no idea how hard this would be though. Anyone else interested in this idea?
maxhaynes
Oh, and while I'm wishing, if you insist on anonymous ratings, could you please, please, please make it so we can shut ratings off an image without asking for a critique? I would like to upload a group of images and I don't want to bother people with dozens of critique requests when all I'm looking for is protection from anonymous ratings. ian_griffiths
Sounds interesting, and from a database point of view shouldn't be too hard to knock up. However I'd guess that as the functionality half exists already in top rated photos and the list of gallery comments it may only get low priority in the development to-do list. knicki____
Max, isnt there already a comments only section? I could be wrong but I thought I read there was. I havent found it yet- but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist.
peggy_jones
Ken, what Max means is that you cannot access critique/comments-only for a photo without first requesting critique for it, which means a limit of four in a 24-hour period. however, I don't see how requesting a critique is a bother to others? anyway, here is the link to find these photos: Newest Critique Requests (Subscribers' Critique Only)
maxhaynes
Peggy, it is a bother to others because you are "requesting a critique" when you aren't really requesting a critique. If I want repost photos that have previously been in my folders but were pulled I certainly don't want to ask people to recritique them. That's just one example. gmahler5th
Steve's wish list. Go back to the old image view and folder view UI layout and design. I hate the new design where you have to scroll down (on 1024x768 monitor) to view links to click to view details, options and critiques. I very much prefer the side by side vertical panes then the current design, which requires the user to scroll and click through at least 3 times more on average to view a single image.
