christopher_engeler
The 1/3N (CR1/3N) lithium battery is the same size and voltage as two silver cells (MS76, LR44, AG13). Can I use this instead of the two batteries. I am thinking longevity, storage, no risk of leak. I have a number of semi-retired F2 cameras. Also, since I have these other cameras as well, would the 1/3N Lithium battery be useable in Pentax LX, Pentax Super Program, Minolta X-700? alistair o
Yep. I have used Lithium in my F2 for some time. No problems.
david_h._hartman
If you are a heavy user of one camera the S-76 type battery may last longer. I think the CR1/3N & DL1/3N type lithium batteries are less likely to leak. They are the only batteries I use in my F2As and FM2n(s).
russ_butner___portland__or
The lithiums are great. Last longer, and impervious to cold weather. However, keep an extra one handy. When the y die, they give very little warning. Russ
photojim
I wouldn't say "impervious to cold weather", unless you mean south Florida cold weather. :) They can and will die, but since cameras that use them tend to use a lot less power than those that use bigger batteries, they will still give a useful life. In temperatures in the -20s C or colder, doing electronically-controlled long exposures will kill these batteries dead in no time, but normal handholdable exposures are not much of a problem.
