picturetaker607
A friend of mine has a Burke & James Camera. I could not find a model number. It is 5x7 and the lens board says "No 3 Acme". The name plate on the camera says "patent pending". Can anyone tell me where to find a model number or help me identify this camera. Its in good shape and I am dying to give it a go. jim_galli4
Matthew, if you can upload a couple of pics of what you've got I can probably help with old Burke & James catalog pages. They made a lot of 5X7's over many years.

jim_galli4
Here's a page out of my 1959 B&J catalog. Model 1002S. What else does the lens say around it. Ilex 3 is just the shutter info.

picturetaker607
There is a "C" on the plate that attaches the lens to the camera. The camera looks like the 5x7 view camera above (it has all the knobs etc), however the rail that the bellows travels on is 15 inches, not 21 (24?) inches as advertised. The body is painted green and the bellows is bright red. The lens speed starts at 1 sec and goes to 1/200th with a "B" and a "T" setting. The arpeture is hard to read but it looks like f/32 to f/1. The name plates also says "patent pending" which indicates to me it is an early model. Hope this helps
picturetaker607
The 15 inch bellows exptension appears correct. The 21 inches is with a extension. I think I have a 5x7 view camera with the cheapest lens that it came with. I don't know what a 'sliding carriage back' is, or how to check for one.
