tony_salce
I was wondering what would be a reasonable price for a chrome SL2 in excellent plus condition. Regards, Tony Salce
doug herr
Just guessing I'd say about USD$700, give or take $100 depending on the parties' emotional attachments to the camera.
jay_.
My how the mighty have fallen. A year or so ago a nice chrome SL2 went for $1200-1400 on the basis of its "rarity".
doug herr
Two years ago I bought a nice chrome SL2 for $450.
jay_.
Anybody who wants to check my facts can simply call any Leica dealer and ask, or find old copies of McKeowns', or basically just do some research. Of course there are always stories of people who have bought things for far under what anybody else had to pay for them. It's called dumb luck. But a $450 chrome SL2 is definitely appropriate for handholding a 560mm lens at 1/4 sec hopping up the side of a mountain on one foot doing a 26 mile marathon. vidom
I bought a Chrome SL2 body on German eBay today for 450 Euro, which is something like 500 US$. Have yet to see it, but from the description it seems ok. This seems to be a great time for buyers! First time in my life that I can afford this kind of gear!
