aaron emanuel litvinoff
My Sony PD170's Video out socket (yellow) aint working. Nothing coming from it. S video and red and white audio are fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how long it could take to fix?
j.w.
I checked the Sony website for info on your model. They don't provide a PDF of the actual owner's manual, so you may want to check if there's a menu feature which allows you to select between composite and S video. The other obvious thing to check is that the camera is not in the "VTR" mode, where the composite jack would be an input, rather than an output. As for fixing this problem, its classified as a professional grade product by Sony, meaning that this may limit your choices of repair facilities to those that service broadcast equipment. Meaning that it could be expensive. Is this unit still under warranty? Its a fairly new product from Sony.
beerbrain_ronny_perry
If its like the PD150,,if you try to playback a DV format tape that is in LP mode it wont work, only DVCAM format & DV format in SP mode ....Plan B try it with a different cable, could be a bad cable,,, RCA connectors for video suk, these cameras should really have BNC vid outs, any pro camera should use BNC connectors.
