bill_clark___minnetonka_mi
I've been quite successful in business. I thought I would share qualities I find that are important in getting a client to sign on with you. I hope this helps you become more successful with your business!
The purpose of this little ditty is to help you!
ENTHUSIASM

Exemplifies a keen interest and belief in s(he?s) job, products and company management.

AMBITION

Strives to make her(him)self and his company successful.

INTEGRITY

Adheres to a code of values which is practiced while working as a Wedding Photographer. derek_c.
I used to (and I still do) bring my girlfriend along with me to the meetings.
She pretends she's waiting for me in the corner... but she would evaluate me when I talk to my potential clients.
After the meeting, she gives me a lecture about posture, voice level, choths I wear, hair style, attitude... etc.
Now I hear more "very good" comments
bill_clark___minnetonka_mi
Wonderful idea Derek! Keep it up! Another idea to improve your self image is to join Toastmasters. I know, I know some will think of ways, rationalize why I don't need that but if you're in a people business and I believe wedding photography is first a foremost a people business, you need Toastmasters. Thanks.
william_au
Nice list! I was thinking about doing something similar last night after reading Nancy's hotly debated thread, but gave up and went to bed instead :). But I think this kind of thing is a really good idea. One of the things I really enjoy in one of the other forums is the "weekly lighting theme" in the lighting forum - where Brooks Short and Garry Edwards post different techniques and ideas every week for people to check out/comment/learn. I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing something similar in here - WEEKLY WEDDING THEME. E.g., fill flash, types of equipment, dragging the shutter, modelling, perspective, formals, photojournalism, business side, albums, etc. etc. I know not everyone has the time (me included), but if a few people took turns doing a theme...? Heck, I'd be interested in trying, just as soon as I figure out what I'm qualified to talk about :).
