ryan_mcintosh
I just recently bought a 8?" f4.8 Ilex Acuton in Acme Synchro shutter, I wanted to know if anyone has anythign possitive or negative to say about the lens. Im just starting out doing 8x10, will it cover 8x10 with no corner drop off? Is the lens sharp? I cannot seem to find nothing online, so I hope someone can help me here. Thanks so much!<div></div>
ryan_mcintosh
Sorry, its a 8 1/2inch. I dont know why it came up ?
mark_sampson
This lens was made in the '60s or '70s, for 4x5 and 5x7 cameras. I doubt it will cover 8x10. (It would be a fairly wideangle lens if it did.) A 'normal' focal length for 8x10 would be 300-360mm (12-14").
chauncey_walden
This is a great lens of modern plasmat design which, while having plenty of movement capability on 5x7, won't cover 8x10.
j._mose
Ryan, I have one that is cammed for my Super Speed Graphic. Although I have only used it with 4X5 and for portrait work, it seems to be a great performer as far as detail and contrast. Yes...you are right...it is hard to find any information on it! J. P.
