larry_underwood
What focal length (or lengths) do you plan on using?

david_lau3
Use the DEP mode on your camera to define the area to be in focus, and the camera will set the right aperture and focus point for you automatically. It works with all EOS lenses. Do note the shutter speed set by the camera before taking the shot. Depending on the lens you are using and the brightness of the environment, it may need a very slow speed for a small aperture. You may need a tripod in this case. scott_ferris
Arun, do a search for "hyperfocal focusing" it will explain it all. Take care, Scott.
yakim_peled1
To get maximum DoF you need to close down the aperture as much as possible, e.g. f/22. However, there's a gotcha. Most lenses do not perform well in these apertures and several optical problems may occur, e.g. Chromatic Aberration. Most lenses perform best at f/8-11. F/16 will also be probably fine. Happy shooting , Yakim.
johnlund
The term you're looking for is "hyperfocal distance". Try a depth of field calculator or a DEP mode. keith_van_hulle1
And just to pick nits, the body itself doesn't determine DOF, your lens does. f/8 on an ElanII is the same as f/8 on any Nikon or Minolta or Olympus . . .
