Costa Manos

I have recently become acquainted with the superb color photography

of Costa Manos. I understand that he used the Leica M for most of his

work but his composition is often so studied and painterly that it

would seem more likely that he would have used an SLR. Can anyone

comment about any of the techniques used by Manos?

which has been re-released. Just a wonderful book. Heck of a photographer.

I saw Mr. Manos at a presentation in 2003. He said that he uses an M6 with slide film for his color work, and relies heavily on the 28mm lens and a hand-held meter.
