fino
Is there any particular colour that is more or less standard for the backgrounds for "corporate" portraits? What one colour would you guys use for bankers/accountants/legal eagles etc? I'm thinking of a double sided one with blue one side and light blue the other.Am I right. steve_levine
Blue is always good,as is mid toned gray.Blue/green is used a lot because it contrasts nicely with most flesh tones.
picturesque
Blue is probably the most popular. I have also used a tan/beige. You might ask the company what their corporate colors are, or what color scheme the brochure or publication is going to be. I believe Westcott has a blue/tan reversible pop up. joseph_wisniewski
Gray or blue. Gray with streaks of the corporate color usually gets me an extra $200, for about 15 minutes work.
steve_hovland
Also depends on the subject. Bald guys should probably be shot on a dark background with no hair light. It may also be a matter of reading your subject. Someone who is very into their power may be pleased by a Karsh-like rendition. Other people might like an airy approach. fino
Joeseph, have you any examples of this technique online?
mr._sasha
The Color of background is usually requested by the client. If the client will ask you to suggest the color Light Gray is the safest bet. However there is no formula.
