fredus
Hi there, I'm looking to buy an inexpensive flash for my Leica when I do need to use a flash (!) ... I was looking at the SF-20 vs this little Metz Metz 28C-2 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=128729&is=REG&si=spec#goto_itemInfo) ... What difference would it make to me if I use the metz ? Thanks for your help ! Fred
patricks
if you don't expect to use it a lot and don't need the TTL function, the Konica HX-14 flash. It is extremly small, you can carry attached to your camera strap. It goes for under $50.
fredus
Patrick, thanks for the tip but I think I'd like a flash with bouncing capability ... What I don't understand is: How do I use a non TTL flash ... ? Will I have to set everything manually on the flash ?? Fred
al_kaplan1
Most non-TTL auto flashes work pretty much the same way. You set your ASA/ISO for the film speed you're using, pick one of the auto ranges on the flash depending on distance and/or your desire for depth of field or lack of it, and set the f/stop on your lens to match. Really easy!
