afterthoughts
Does anyone know what I can do to correct a problem where a ' appears as a ?. For example: She's the one I love. This only seems to happen in critique section.
mottershead
I don't think it is limited to the critique section. Are you cutting and pasting from Microsoft Word or some other program. I think if you enter text in the box directly, the ' characters come through fine.
afterthoughts
Thanks, I have been using Word. If it turns out that is not the Problem, I'll let you know.
joe_orsak
Howard, I use to use word to spell check stuff that I was posting and noticed the same problem. I think it's the copy paste process that bunks it up.
dan flanders
Copying and pasting from MS Word and Word Perfect is the culprit. Until the incompatibility is corrected I suppose we will have to put up with it. Most who use the word processor applications do so for the convenience of spell-check. I believe most of us would prefer to to put up with occasional misspelled words than the incomprehensibility of mangled syntax. Typing directly into the Answer Bos will elliminate the punctuation substitutions..
dougityb
I just posted this somewhere else, but this looks like a better spot. Any possibility of showing a larger comment box? The current one displays only a few lines, and short ones at that. Any chance it could be both widened and lengthened?
absinthe
A temporary workaround for those who copy & paste from Word or Wordperfect:<p> When you wanna spell check & copy & paste from Word, you end up with text being all oogy looking in photo.net, what you can do is first copy & paste it to a text based editor like notepad. That should strip the formatted text & replace it with standard ASCII. Works for me until Brian has the time to implement a solution.
