Ebay scam

Remember that ebay scam from two days ago (can't find the thread)? The guy had a 1Ds

and a EF 600 for sale, both with official photos (not made by the seller himself), with 0

ratings and he was supposedly from Australia. There was also a constant higher bidder

which backed him up, registered 2 days before him in.

Anyhow... I asked him a question. He answered me with his address :-)

email is: lake_05@yahoo.com

I'm posting that here, just in case you encounter by any chance elsewhere hoping that

you'll remember this post and not get screwed.

Here is the whole BS:

hank you for your interest and enthusiasm.

The item is brand new and comes to you in a factory sealed package

with all the accessories provided by the manufacturer and includes

one year full manufacturer's warranty.

This unit were supposed to be used for presentation and display

purposes for the forthcoming launch here in Florida.

I acquired this and now I am willing to sell it on eBay which is a

great marketplace.

That's why am able to give you a very attractive Buy It Now price:

$2000 US Dollars plus $100 for shipping.

The item will be shipped insured through FedEx Next Day Air and it will

arrive to your door in 2 working days.

Let me know if you're interested so we can initiate the deal.

What an idiot. The sad part is that some are more than he is.

The older I get the more in line I am with the traditional Muslim method of

punishing thieves. They got it too easy over here from the dimestore thief to Kenneth (I didnt know a thing) Lay, its a cakewalk, therefore

it impermiates our society, from the Oval Office to our computor screens.

"The older I get the more in line I am with the traditional Muslim method of punishing thieves."

Of course if one "punishes" the wrong thief, it's kinda difficult to sew their parts back on. Maybe the old Hebrew way is better, e.g., "...an eye for an eye," is more apt punishment for both criminals and law enforcement that make mistakes. Doesn't the "Ebay Artist" have a Hindu name? He may get his with very bad karma and be reborn a thousand times are an ant or worm...

Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see.

I agree completely with Cy. Let's keep this forum focused on photography issues, and not criminal justice issues.

I am glad someone stated what was exactly for sale(1Ds and a EF 600 ). When I looked on Ebay after reading the orginal thread, the items were no longer for sale(possibly withdrawn). The old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam" appears to hold once again.

You can't mix Middle Eastern punishment with American social programs, within stumbing over the Laws of Unintended Consequences. Cut off a thief's hands (even if you get the right guy), and -- if you're a taxpayer -- you'll get stuck with the bill for furnishing him with room and board (and beer and cigarettes and ...) for the rest of his (or your) life.

put the address in mapquest

i've never been to pinellas Park, but it doesnt look like a residential area, near a shopping mall...actually, the "star" lands up in the middle of a divided roadway, so the address is probably bogus
