Chossing EOS3, ELAN EII, Nikon N80 or the Pentax MZS QD?

I am having trouble deciding on what to buy as an SLR CAMERA.

I am considering between The EOS3, ELAN EII, Nikon N80 and the Pentax

MZS QD. I would consider buying EOS 3 due the robust body.... the

others are light in weight.Nikon and Elan suffer good autofocus in

low light.... Is this true? What accesories would one consider to

buy.... ex the 550 EX Flash for canon, a Power drive?

Can any one please help me? I was considering of buying the EOS 3

since i would rather afford only one to camera... One 35mm at the

moment and one Digital SLR in the future, since they are currently

very expensive. Does one need to have several cameras for a good job?

Or have good quality lenses? Thx in advance for the support given.

Hi there

On the Canon side, determine if your photographic skill is suitable such that you need

not rely on the Auto settings offered by the elan ii If you could still do with this safety

net then dont buy the Eos 3 (yet) This is also a sensible (financial) option if you are

considering one of the Digital SLRs later.

The Eos 3 does auto focus in considerably lower light conditions and this is even

better with the expensive L series lenses.

Do you need a Power drive??? going up from 5 frames per second to 7? The verticle

shutter release is a great feature but heavy and overkill. This is with regard to ther

EOS3. However I do need to mention the benefit of the battery options.

On the Elan ii. I recomend that you do get the battery grip, it makes it a much much

better camera.

Always get the remote release this is so necessary.

The Speedlight 550 is a must (above other flashes)

At the end of the day you would want to end up with an EOS3 and an EOS 10D. Both

with L series lenses. Slide film in the one camera.

Cheers G
