sushil
Recently I bought Nikon 70-300G zoom after returning Tamron 75-300mm which showed excessive CA. I find Nikon's Bokeh very good with creamy backgrounds, on par with Nikon 75-150E lens which I used. Any similar experiences?
rustys pics
I have not used the 70-300G lens, but since you compare it to the 75-150 E it must be really good. The 75-150 was a very underated lens. I plan to buy the 70-300mm G for the new D70 this Fall.
Prof-K
The bokeh was ok...however the sharpness was terrible! So I sold mine for a Nikkor 180mm f/2.8. I still miss the 300 range, though.
lachaine
I've shot some very sharp pictures with the 70-300G. It gets a little softer closer to 300, but it's still not bad considering the price of the lens.
sushil
My initial impression too was that the lens is not sharp. But, after a reply to my thread regarding sweetspot of the lens (I could not find any reviews on the lens), I started using f8 and smaller apertures. Now I find my images are sharp as well. lachaine
Here's an example, and this is just from a relatively low resolution scan from the neighbourhood minilab.<div></div>
