Kodak T400CN process C41 B&W film

Recommended Posts

Sometimes the prints come back with a color cast, it all depends on the machine's operator at the lab.

I get better results with Konica Monochrome VX-400 exposed at ISO 200,

I have sent these to few different "cheap" labs and they always come back with no color cast, it seems that this film's base is much better and easier to work with than Kodak's T400CN.

You might also want to try Kodak's "Black & White" C-41 film (aka BWC 400) in the

black box (you know, the stuff sold at drugstores). It's optimized for minilab printing

and has VERY fine grain.

I've used BWC 400 before and I will definately use it again, now that my photo class is

done & I don't have a darkroom. I even have a lab suggestion for it: the Fuji Frontier

at your local Wal-Mart's 1-hour lab-better prints than you'll ever imagine.

A wedding pro told me that this stuff is great, provided you use a lab who

digitise the neg and can then remove all traces of the blue / green colour cast

(which you also get with Fuji Neopan 400CN) before printing.

I understand from another post on this board that the Fuji Frontier can be set

to do this automatically, so presumably the best lab to use on 1 hour would be

those who use Fuji Frontier machines ???

I've shot a lot of it, and processed at a minilab. There is a colour cast, but it is generally pleasing and not a bad way to get proofs. I was a staunch supporter of Ilford and tried to stick with XP2 Super, but the kodak product was way better at minilabs.
