nelson cotrim
I have Elan 7e and I'm using a friend's 10D. When I use FEL the exposure lock is on the central focusing point, regardless of the active. On the Elan, FEL is always on the active point. I searched through all the CFs but couldn't find any way to set this. Is it possible to change the FEL point or is it always locked on the central point?
PuppyDigs
"Is it possible to change the FEL point or is it always locked on the central point?" Nope. Unlike the Elan 7E, the 10D lacks a CF to reassign FEL and partial metering to the active AF point. The 10D also lacks DEP mode (has suckie ADEP) and ECF. Probably Canon left these features out so they'd have some features to add in the next upgrade. Besides, without ECF or the AF selection keys of the Elan 7E, it's too slow to select individual AF points on the 10D. Most people give up and just stick with the central AF sensor. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
