terry_rory
The quarry was flooded and abandoned in 2003. It was used to refinish stones from Old London bridge when it was bought and exported to the USA. (Lake Havasu) William Duke developed Merrivale Quarry starting in 1874 and it was used for Granite. The pub is called the "Dartmoor Inn" and is very nice with excellent lunches. (The pies are all home made.) The beams are not too low. The worlds finest sausages are made about 12 miles away in a village called Chagford. Many of the local pubs use them.
