larrydressler
Estimating the DOF is a lost art. Great Bravo! But how many Digicameras have a DOF preview? Maybe it will become a rediscovered art.
TomHildreth
Todd, I really like the way motion blur has isolated the two flyers in the upper center of the frame from the rest of the scene. The third flyer banking away to the right is a distraction that makes the shot only good, rather than outstanding. On him, next time, try a light load of birdshot from a .410 pump. Or, being quieter, maybe photoshop. Birds in England look completely different. Or so they used to say.

thanz
Thanks guys, the first one I had to run into the birds to get them to fly, they are so used to being fed by people they just figured I was there to feed them. I pre-set the DOF and figured if everything got up, something would be in focus. The second one I had to almost dip the camera into the water to get, all the while the mother duck was quacking away and headed straight for me. I never thought either of these would amount to much but they turned ot allright I guess. Todd

cenelsonfoto
Todd, as information - the sense of motion in #1 is sweet as is the positions of the birds. #2 is wonderful depth and lots of triangles and vanishing stuff. the focus is dead on on the lead duck, really works well. Im sure somebody could find multiple reasons why not to like it, but I would be happy with a print of either.
