drjoder
I have a PC with Windows Vista, 4GB RAM, Pentium 2.80 GHz, 32-bit...I am trying to download the free WordPress 3.1 web design program to check it out. It is a zip file. When I click on DOWNLOAD NOW, then on OPEN, my computer almost immediately goes nuts...at least 15 windows for Windows Explorer open and the screen starts flashing. I end up having to shut down the hard drive with the button and reboot. It seems to happen with zip files. What's up? P.S. I am only moderately computer literate, so be gentle.

Matt Laur
What unzipping app are you using? Rather than telling it to OPEN after the download, just open up the folder into which the file has been placed, right-click on it, and choose "Extract Here" to unpack the file into one place, in one window. What happens when you try that?
