chris_robertson5
I'm looking for foam core in 4'x8'x1/8" white sheets and 4'x8'x1/2" white and black sheets. Anyone know where I could get this online for a reasonable price?
charles_stobbs3
Most craft stores in malls or elsewhere carry it in white, anyway. Not sure about black.
heller_harris
Pearl Paint has foam core, but I don't know that black comes in that size.
glenn_holden
Chris I don't think I would try on line, the shipping will kill you. Try a good graphic arts store near you. It's a lot less expensive to buy full sheets than the little cut pieces. Seems to me I had to buy $100 worth though, and I still have some left. I've also bought from the local hobby store- black foam core board is often used by RRX folks to make modifications to their layouts. I acutally once found some in my local building supply outlet as well, but they don't carry it anymore. LGH.
mark pav
Many hardware stores will carry it--Home Despot, for instance.
pvp
Sorry, I think you left this planet when you asked for a reasonable price.
Ed_Ingold
If you use foam-core for mounting or backing material, you should use acid-free stock. You can get this at most framing shops. I have not seen it at craft stores (e.g., Michaels or Hobby Lobby).
pablito_pistola
You will not find four by eight foot sheets anywhere. I don't think it's made in such big sheets.
link
If you live in a big city, stores that rent/supply motion picture equipment usually have foam core in the 4x8' sheets. Certainly in Los Angeles, or NY it's easy to come by. Also many still photography stores sell it as well if they serve the pro market. You might want to check Calumet, Freestyle, or Samy's, or B&H online. Good luck.
