jamespjones
fascinating camera - I wish the sample photos weren't all shot at ISO64, but I guess that is the way of things. When was this camera announced? I'd only heard rumors and didn't see it here. James PhotographyRI

Michael R Freeman
> "When was this camera announced?" Aug. 7, 2008 to be precise (along with 5 other Coolpix models). :-) See the bottom of this page (for this and all other recent Nikon announcements): http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/index.htm
summitar
Visited my local camera store, and they had a P6000 in stock. I have no idea of its attributes regarding image quality, but it seemed light and plasticky to me. It has a good grip. But lightness is not a virtue in a small camera,
shuo_zhao
>> " wish the sample photos weren't all shot at ISO64" Their 1/1.7" sized sensors all have way too many tiny pixels. I doubt their new sensor/processor technology will be able to completely compensate for small pixel size, high pixel count, and high pixel density's effects on high ISO noise and IQ.
