airchild
Hi! I have just been approached by a Web site owner in the U.S. who wantedto use a few of my photos for his site. Apparently he sells ads forthe site's podcasts so it is a commercial site. The photos areprobably for use in an unlimited timeframe. He offered to give me acredit line and link to my own Web site. But since it is a commericalsite, I don't want to offer my photos to him for free. Can anyone tell me how much I should charge him? How do I calculatethe rates? Thanks in advance for your help! qtluong
You are entirely right that you need to be paid. There is Resnick's price table: http://www.sethresnick.com/price/webpricing.html but I've always felt prices were high for most clients. On the other hand of the spectrum, Dan has some more reasonable prices, that are on the low side http://danheller.com/cgi/license.data You'll probably want to be somewhere in between. airchild
Exactly! No free lunch :-)! Thank you so much for your tips. I think Dan Haller's prices are very reasonable and if the Web site owner says "no" to any form of payment, then it's not worth the effort. Thanks!
