mikehegarty01
Thanks Gerald for supplying this image it is very nice. I like the strong leading line of the left side river bank so I tried to figure a way to use that. I made two layers one in color that I added a little contrast and saturation to the mid tones. The other layer I desaturated and did a split tone. I then added a white mask to the top layer and did a black to white diagonal blend to make the right side of the river full color and the left side split tone. I took a few tries to get the blend to match the bank but I like this one.

michaellinder
Most work done in PSE15: adjusted tonalities using levels; used dodge tool to brighten sign, people, and patch of sky; sharpened; added lens flare in top right . Used vignette filter tool in Color Efex to add white vignette.

Gerald Cafferty
My interpretation was inspired by the tom_r post but hopefully not a copy. All adjustment done in LR, I can't remember all the steps but I was looking to a high contrast effect. Then I went for a split tone, Red for the highlights and blue for the shadows.

megalithicmatt
Applied a telephoto lens correction filter to a copy of the image to get the spherical effect then overlaid it on the original. Cropped down, reduced exposure and removed saturation from the background and cloned out a wire. Boosted exposure and applied curves to the main area.
