nathan cote
I am in dire need of rebuilding my website. I dont have the time to do it myself and i dont have the money to pay a designer. I saw a good program out there for around 120$ that could build a site with unique looks. I would love any suggestions and links to sites built by these programs. Any websites would be great as well.

thank you in advance!

-nathan
huperetes
May I suggest a path that may cover most of your expenses?
Find a host that supports LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) $5 - $25/month (Hostgator is a good place to start)
Load Latest WordPress $0
Extend the product with various widgets, plugins , etc $0
Install existing and free theme that is closest to look-and-feel wanted from free themes $0
Hire Wordpress theme designer to modify installed theme $50 - $120

Enjoy.

Matt Laur
Yes, as John says. You could also do the same with another CMS (content management system) like Drupal, or Joomla. Drupal is aimed more at gearheads, but makes it pretty easy to add in e-commerce and other more involved stuff down the road. Something to think about if you get into selling online.
aimee_pieters
I've done a number of sites through Network Solutions. You pay $120 upfront (9.95/month) for web hosting, the domain name registration is free and they have hundreds of templates to easily build your site. No software needed and you can get support by PHONE, a real live person. Check it out....-Aimee
daniel_loesch
To follow up on the last thread, here, there are several sites that you can go to build a professional portfolio without any knowledge of CSS or html and get a very professional portfplio up and running within minutes.
DeviantART.com is a massive art community (9M members) and is about to release a portfolio tool that aims on being the standard for all artists, worldwide. The tool is FREE with a sign-up to the site, and had already been vetted by professional researchers for having all the elements to properly showcase photography to school admission departments, buyers, prospective clients, etc. I would shop here first.

Not sure when its coming out, but if you're a member of the site you'll get a message about it. Google 'online artist portfolio' and you'll see the deviantart link.

good luck!

taylor_summers
Also, there are plenty of places to do a site,..I run with TTCHost.com
They have unlimited bandwith, diskspace & you can get templates you can customize yourself for about 5 bucks.
But all of this is for naught if it doesn't fit your budget or needs.
