cd thacker
Okay. So I wish I was in Japan but no, I'm still, alas, in Hawaii. One of the great things about being here, however, is the strong dose of Japanese culture extant in Honolulu. It goes back several generations.<p> I'll tell you the story of how these pics got made in that other thread where I left the center tag on (so I can fix it!). Alex_Es
Now I see why it all looked so much like Japanese summer. I thought Okinawa maybe. But Hawaii. All is clear. Okay, this is Japan...........<div></div>

cd thacker
I'm at home now, responding on my phone. (Earlier I was at an internet cafe.)<p>Alex, love that picture. Makes me miss Japan without ever having been there.<p>And Craig, your picture is too big to load on my phone. But I'll see it tomorrow back at the cafe.<p>A word on the phone-camera thing. Hope not too many of you are offended by my posting these here. It's just that I've really enjoyed this forum over the last couple of years, am right now very interested in shooting with this phone - and this is currently my only practical means of participating here, pictorially. But if most of you feel it's inappropriate, I'll stop.

Alex_Es
Thanks, CD! The Japan shots here are really good. That's Himeji Castle, isn't it, Sheldon? Okay, here's boy meets girl in Himeji.<div></div>

cd thacker
Now I see that kimono, Craig. Nice. Any more? <p> Japanese - such a broad and fascinating category. And that last pic gives me an idea . . . maybe somebody should start a schoolgirls thread? Alex?
Alex_Es
School girl thread. Let me think about that. By the way, I meant to say, CD, that your Nokia shots are delightful and inspiring. I have one of those but haven't used the photo function.
