myrmecos
Hello. I am looking for feedback about Visuals Unlimited, a stock agency that specializes in Science/Nature images, preferably from people who have worked with them in the past.
I've been thinking for a while about farming out the marketing of my images to a stock agency. Photography is only a sideline for me and I've not got the time or inclination to devote to running a small business. Nonetheless, I often deal with several requests per week, usually generated through Google traffic to my web site myrmecos.net. The folks at Visuals Unlimited contacted me out of the blue this morning, as they are interested in signing me on. I had not heard of them, but a cursory web search about the company shows that they are relatively high- profile and well-connected for science photography. What I'd like to hear from photo.netters are experiences from nature photographers who have worked with this company regarding whether their experiences were worthwhile.
Thanks,
Alex
jean deaux
Hi Alex,
I have heard of VU, but do not know any contributing photographers. You might want to ask this question on the stock photo board. You might want to consider Photo Researchers or Grant Heilman. Both specialize in the natural sciences and I've heard great things about them.
Hope this helps.
serge_kozak
This once was a very good agency. After some big changes a few years ago I think that has changed. It may still be a nice agency for science and medical photography. Your work may fit in well with them. Good luck. -Serge
William Michael
. . . Trying to contact them. . . In the opening post there is a link, I have repeated it here: "Visuals Unlimited" The link is active and at that website (and it seems that it was updated in 2018), there is an email contact form.
