alan_cookson
I have recently acquired a job lot of 1950's and 1960's filter holders and lens hoods. The makers were all British; Photo Science, BDB and Actina. Unfortunately they are nearly all sizes which are not commonly used. Can anyone tell me what cameras they fit? They are mostly screw-in and not push-fit. Here are the sizes of the lens hoods, which are all screw-in types: 25.5mm, 27mm, 27.5mm, 28.5mm, 29.5mm, 30mm, 30.5mm, 31.5mm, 32mm, 32.5mm, 34mm, 36mm, 36.5mm, 37.5mm, 38mm, 39mm, 45mm, 46mm, 47mm, 54mm & 55mm They are nearly all "as new" in original boxes. There are 45 in total. They will obviously be hard to find. From what I can gather by searching the net, 27mm could be a Zeiss Ikon fit (which camera I am not sure). 30.5mm should fit Carl Zeiss Werras, 36mm is a Leica fit, 45mm should fit a 45mm Kodak Retina lens. 54mm might fit Yashica, & Petri cameras (don't know which models), also a Voigtlander 50mm Septon lens. I would be grateful if anyone shed some light on any of the above. Regards Alan Cookson
georg_scheck
Hi Alan, interesting stuff:27 mm is Zeiss Ikon Contaflex SuperB/BC,32 mm is Kodak Retina IIc,IIIc,46 mm is Rollei XF 35. But there will be more specialists in the net to answer the rest. Regards Georg
robert_eastwood
Hi Alan, I know that the 36.5mm hood size fits the Konica III rangefinder camera made in the late fifties, at least the 48mm f2 & f2.4 versions of the Hexanon lens. Konica made a special hood for the camera, the Konihood, which sometime appears on E-bay. Robert Eastwood
walter_degroot
miranda f/1.9 lenses, konica c-35 and the agfa e-photo all used the 46mm thread.

furcafe
Some Canon RF lenses take 34mm hoods/filters. Voigtlander's 50/1.5 Nokton & 50/2 Ultron for the Prominent take 45mm hoods/filters.
david_m
28.8mm is I believe Kodak Signet 35. Yes they are hard to find but not many people are looking either. Lots of cameras use 46mm including many modern ones.
tonight
Actually, the Retinas will take the 29.5mm screw-in filters. The 32mm filters they will receive are only of the push-on type.
dan flanders
My Voigtlander 'Superb' takes a 27.5mm screw in shade or filter or a 29mm push on. I would be interested in obtaining some screw in or push on accessories for that lens. The viewing lens is the same size. I have the facilities for adjusting the depth of shades to properly adapt to the subject lens. I will contact you by e-mail. Thanks for the information. charles_stobbs3
55mm also fits Yashica Electro 35's with 1.7 lenses, 46mm fits Canonet 28's, 30.5mm fits Werras esp. with 30.5 mm internal/external threads so you can screw on the hood. But the thread pitch may vary also, you can screw up (pun intended) with the wrong pitch.
