Paul Lewis1664881697
I'm working on my mobile kit and would like to have a tripod bag with a divider so that I can carry my tripod and a small Bogen 3373 light stand in one bag without banging around. Has anyone come across anything like this? thanks....
gholston_matt
Giottos makes some very nice cases that fit your needs exactly... http://www.mpex.com/browse.cfm/2,45.html Check that link out and you can choose your size... RMG
clay2
For odd-sized items go to a music store and look at the bags that drummers use to carry their drum stands./Clay
dave_holland
You might make a visit to a local sporting goods store. I have found 'bat bags' used by baseball teams to be pretty good for lighting equipment. I use my daughter's soccer bag, which is long enough for my longest lightstand. Paul Lewis1664881697
Thanks for the suggestions! The lightstand I wish to carry around is even shorter than my tripod when folded, so a short bag would be best.
peter_j2
I use a regular light stand bag and protect each stand/tripod stored within with their original heavy-duty clear plastic bags. It's cheaper than looking at the great alternatives mentioned above. http://tinyurl.com/4pfdjk
craig_shearman1
I throw everything together in the same bag and don't worry about it. Tripods and light stands are heavy duty metal items that aren't likely likely to be damaged by rubbing up against each other like a glass lens banging against a metal camera body corner or flash bracket. I may get a few scratches in the paint job but that doesn't both me on a light stand or tripod.
Paul Lewis1664881697
Maybe your tripod + head didn't cost $600? I like to re-sell my equipment when I've upgraded, so I avoid scratches and dents while owning them.
peter_j2
"Maybe your tripod + head didn't cost $600?" My tripod alone cost over $600. Never mind the $230 light stands and $75 tripod head. Plastic bags at least 3 mil thick will provide sufficient protection from scratches due to movement within the bag. I am probably as particular about babying my equipment as you are to garner top selling dollar. Believe me, my Nikon film stuff was mint and it got me top dollar.
