nikos
Is there a forum suitable for discussions related to travel photography? I'm referring to discussing things such as destinations, climate, transport, culture, interesting spots for particular types of photography, ethical issues etc. I'm sure most of these questions could be posted in 'general photography' but have you considered a travel photography forum? (after all you do have plenty of travel content on photo.net already which suggests there is interest in this directions) If you have considered it and decided against it for some particular reason, would care telling me, or referring me to a related thread? (currently the 'search if it's asked before' function does not work)
basscheffers
I suggested the same thing in an email many moons ago, even offering to moderate and compile FAQs and other documents from information gathered, but never got a reply... I would still be interested in such a forum, though!
michael_dimarzio
I like the idea also. There are so many questions such as "Which film for Hawaii?" Where to process film in Mumbai, etc., that a separate forum for travel would be helpfull. I travel for work and lug around a C645, and have many failed photos because I didn't have the right film, how was I to know that on Elephanta Island you can't use a tripod? Other useful inputs would be suggestions as to where to go to get a shot that is rare. There is a travel section, but it's pretty dead.
kai_griffin
There is a travel section, but it's pretty dead.
All it takes to make the already-existing Travel Forum more lively is to start posting there! I'd be an enthusiastic participant there, too...
