sunpak

Does anyone have experience with using digital SLR's with sunpak and metz flashguns? I wondered in

the cl1 and the sunpak G4500dx were compable so that I dont fry my nice new camera..?

When I was researching flashes for my Nikon D200, I ran across info saying that Metz would have full ttl programming, but it didn't have it at the time (a few months ago?). I ended up buying the SB800. I was hoping the Metz would have this feature because of the high GN ratings of their flashes.

thanks nadine - goos site although the metz cl-1 is an iffy and there is no mention of the

sunpak. The sunpak is the one I really need to know about - any ideas?

I believe the G4500dx is known as the Sunpak 555, which is on the botzilla list. What camera are you using? If in doubt, get a Safe Sync--$40 (or whatever it costs) is nothing to be sure.

thanks nadine - i'll have a look again at the site now - i'm using a canon D5 and a mamiya

afd....i want to get them working like my studio flash and want to add a second or third flash.

I dont want to have to buy a pocket wizard for each - what is the best way to get them firing

together - do any metz (or other) models have power control and slaves?

You can get optical slaves or the Chinese RF slaves (which are a lot cheaper than the PWs). The Chinese RF slaves are even cheaper than many optical slaves. But for $20 you won't get the performance of a PW.
