Stairs in the woods

Seeking some input on this one. Shot today, Hacklebarney State Park, New Jersey. Nikon d5100. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend everyone!

 

Interesting shot. Like the pattern on the stairs and how they lead back into the image and up to that dark sort of doorway surrounded by the green of the vegetation. Gives the image an air of mystery. What's behind that door? Kind of thing. Don't know if that's what you were going for, but that's my take on it. I'd have probably cropped up from the bottom 2 or 3 steps, maybe played around with brightness and contrast a little to see if I could sort of emphasize that air a little more, and probably tried to see if I could camouflage (so to speak) that thin grey tree trunk (think that's what it is) sticking up in the background behind the door, but that's me, and I'm not exactly an authority on the subject.
