howardstanbury Posted October 30, 2016 Share Posted October 30, 2016
I was out in south Oxfordshire last week. At Bix Bottom (really) there is an abandoned church that has had it's remaining walls recently made safe:

<a title="Bix Old Church" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

^ A7, LA-EA4, Minolta 24-85mm zoom; 4-frame 'portrait' panorama

Nearby, the autumn colours were beginning to shine

<a title="Autumn light" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

^ A7, LA-EA4, Minolta 24-85mm zoom

And in the Warburg Nature Reserve, sheep grazed under the trees

<a title="Warburg Nature Reserve" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

^ A7, LA-EA4, Minolta 24-85mm zoom

As ever, please add a selection for the week below.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

howardstanbury Posted October 30, 2016 Author Share Posted October 30, 2016
Randy, the church that is now in ruins is said to date from the early C12, though much of the structure will be later. The building was abandoned in 1875 and there is a replacement church about a mile away.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
