derek_simpson
I have lost a tiny spacer from the rail/front element interface - looks like polythene rod (approx 1.5ins)- there are four of these in all and a wonder I haven't lost one before. Does anyone know of a standard part substitute ?
cameron_ertman
If it's anything Sinar (parts, repair etc.), Precision Camera Works could have it. david_mcniven
Hi Derek, just had a look at one on my Wolf. 42.9 x 5mm. dia., likely to be PTFE. I haven't so far been able to find a parts supplier - found a parts list for Sinar but it's in German. All mine needs is a focus rack, no luck so far. I've just bought it as is (with no bellows) but I love it already. So much lighter than my other 45 but about as rigid as a slice of streaky bacon. Better once I'd cleaned the bearing surfaces & adjusted the locks though. I think I'll modify the focus with a rack & pinion from an old RB67 I have...
hobbyplastic.co.uk have 6mm. x 300mm. PTFE for 50 pence - your name sounds British :) - I wouldn't go to the expense of having somebody reduce the diameter, just file 2 flats at 90 degrees until it fits. Friction is adjusted by 2 small grub screws at the side - loosen these before you start, adjust them up when you're back on the rail. 300mm. gives you six tries to get it right... unless you can find 5mm. diameter stock. Or have money to burn!

derek_simpson
Thanks for replies. I wasn't thinking PTFE - I was on nylon/polysomethingorotherverylongandimpressivide. PTFE makes sense and a supplier to boot - yes I am in UK - Northern Ireland to be precise so many many thanks, Derek Simpson
