SilverFast support

It looks like the support dept. in LaserSoft has gone totally silent

for about a month. Seldom answers on their forums, no follow-up on

incident reports after the automatically generated response email.

 

Anyone had the same experience ?

 

I use a Microtek Artixscan 120tf. Is it just that they answer by

priorities depending on how popular a scanner is ?

Ah yes, that happens all the time. The solutions is simple. You need to scan BW film as RGB and extract one of the channels from the scan in photoshop. Usually the green channel looks best.

 

I believe this happens because there is a slight misalignment between the three channels. Silverfast tries to create a grayscale by averaging all three channels which makes the misalignment very visible.
