dpeterson
I just purchased a Sigma SA-7n and two kit lenses (28-105 and 70-300)for $100 on ebay (like new condition). This was the best bargain Ihave ever found in photo equipment! This is a beautifully responsivecamera, with all the "bells and whistles" I am likely to ever need.Best of all, it is an excellent photo taking tool! It does notautofocus as quick as Canon EOS camera but by any other measure, it ishighly capable. I've included a sample below of a photo taken with thekit lens (28-105). Has anyone else had experience with this camera? What is your opinion?

See more sample photos from this camera and kit lens at my <ahref="http://abqstyle.com/jemez/jemez_1.htm">Jemez Valley PhotoGallery
scottl
I have the Sigma SA-7 as well, although I think my short lens is 28-80 macro. I got the camera new, as a kit, for about $240. I was surprised when I received my camera to find that it had a data back, as I thought that only was available on the SA-9. I love the camera, and I really think that it is an excellent value. After I finish building my medium format camera, I will probably invest in a couple prime lenses for the Sigma. Enjoy it.... Scott
stemked
A couple of years ago I saw a writeup about this Sigma combo, it was basically described as a bargain beyond belief. The camera has got fine reviews and your photo proves that good photography comes from the skill and technique of the photographer, not necessarily the name printed on the camera. The only down side to Sigma cameras that I can comment on is the limitation in the mount. No one but Sigma makes Sigma mount lenses which means you maynot be able to find certain types of lenses. If you are happy with that selection and other Sigma offerings if you ever grow beyond your current lenses then you have found the perfect setup. gary_watson
As Doug noted, the only real problem is the utter lack of choice in lenses aside from what Sigma offers. Samsung debuted an equally nice SLR several years ago with Schneider optics that was a crashing failure. If the price is right, why not? I'm also seeing older Contax/Yashica gear, often very clean, showing up for peanuts.
