dav_7700 Posted April 1, 2010 Share Posted April 1, 2010
Hi. Really interested about the shadows techniques used by Solve Sundsbo.
Does anyone know what technique for having this sort of shadows and what sort of lighting - flash, hmi, natural... -

http://www.mamimagazine.com/wordpress/?p=2277

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gsphotoguy Posted April 1, 2010 Share Posted April 1, 2010
I don't know how Solve did this image but I've done some similar. In my case it was direct sun through a lace curtain. Exposure was set for the sunlit area so the shadows would fall to black.
I have many more examples with different things casting the shadow.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Charles_Webster Posted April 1, 2010 Share Posted April 1, 2010
You can cast hard-edged shadows with a focusing stage light such as an elipsoidal spotlight with a gobo in the focal plane. I'm sure there are other ways, including using the sun.

<Chas>
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
