michael_dimarzio
While wasting a few hours on the Internet looking for a new place to live and photograph, I came across a interesting site. Here is a photo of Sam Cooley and his two mule pulled wagons, circa 1860-65. http://www.old-picture.com/civil-war/Photographers-Civil-War-001.htm The site archives photographs from all over the world and features a great search capability. Here you can find historical photographs from the American West, from Indian raiding parties, to Wilbur Wright, to Africa. Most photos credit the photographer and are dated. Here is a photo typical of the quality of the site, a French soldier and his dog both wearing gas masks on the way to the front, look in the background of the person leaving... http://www.old-picture.com/united-states-history-1900s---1930s/Soldier-French-with-Mask.htm Definitely worth a book mark for anyone that likes historic photos. http://www.old-picture.com/index.htm
