jason_greenberg_motamedi
I understand that polarizing filters must be placed before (ie; closer to the subject) polyester gel filters, but how about resin filters? I use a Lee hood and 4x4 system and regular screw-in polarizing filters. Normally I am able to use use either the polarizing filter OR the 4x4s, but I have a job where I must use both color correction and a polarizing filter. I was hoping that I could screw a polarizing filter directly on the lens, and then, with a wide-angle Lee adaptor, add the hood and a resin CC filter, so the resin CC filter would be closer to the subject, and the polarizing filter would be closer to the film. Assuming that I don't have vignetting, does anyone have comments on this set-up? As always, thanks in advance.
ellis_vener_photography
I have done what you want to do with seemingly no problems but the caveat is I did not do an A /B test to compare the results of the two placement strategies.
john_luke
I have had no problems affixing my Lee resins to the outside of a screw in polarizer. A side note if you use a circular polarizer in a series adapter ring (ie, threadless): There is a specific orientation to a circular polarizer that must be observed.
