joshua_gomeh
My Rolleiflex 3.5F Planar focusing screen is quite dim. I'd like to replace it with a better one, with better focusing ability to a glass bearer, like me. Does anyone have any experience with Beattie, Maxwell or Rick Oleson screens? john_elder1
I have 2 Rollei TLR's both have Maxwell screens. I believe the consensus is that the best screen for a Rollei is the Maxwell. Bright as day.
mskovacs
I've got no complaints about my Maxwells. I have one in my main TLR. After using my Rollei SL66 for a short time, I realized how much I wanted a Maxwell for that too so I bought one for that camera too. Hi Lux plain matte with gridlines. I don't like focus aids, especially in an SLR.
bob_cook
I sent my 60's vintage 2.8F to Marflex in New Jersey and had them install a screen from the most recent vintage of Rollei SLR's. Very nice. They also ensured that the focusing was correct. Although in the distinct minority, I'm one of the people that had problems with Maxwell when I purchased a screen from him years ago for my Pentax 67. He kept the camera for several months and would not return phone calls. Finally got it back and the screen was fine, but certainly no better than the Rollei screen in my tlr. v._b.
I have two Rolleiflex 3.5F - for one of them I purchased new Maxwell screen, another camera is with the old screen. It's day and night. I'm very satisfied with Maxwell.
