newton_shrader1
I recently broke the tip off of the crank on my old style a12 back on my 1980s vintage 500cm. The crank appears to be attached to the rest of the mechanism with a single metal pin. If I can find an old a12 back to use for parts, would it be tough to remove the small crank from the a12 with the intact crank and replace the broken one? russ_britt3
Easy fix, just push the pin out, replace crank ,push pin back in.
hasselblad technician
As Russ wrote, you simply push the pin out, hold the new handle in position and insert the pin. If you live in the United States, I would be happy to send you a handle at no charge. Just let me know your mailing address. djcphoto
Sorry to dredge up an old post, but how big a job is it to replace the entire winder assembly (not just the crank, but the round base that the crank attaches to) on an A12 back? Just trying to make one decent back out of two not so good backs. Thanks, Dave
q.g._de_bakker
Easiest would be to replace the entire side panel the crank is on. It is held on with three screws (allowing access to the back's mechanism), and thus very quick to swap against the one of the donor back.
